Blame it on the Witness Protection Program
May 23, 2009How to Score by Robin Wells
Synopsis:
Sammi Matthews’ life is in shambles – her job as a museum curator is compromised when the current curator refuses to retire, her landlord wants to evict her and demolish her home, and to top it off, she injures every man she’s attracted to…
So she hires a life coach, Luke Jones, to help her work through her relationship woes. The only problem is that Luke isn’t exactly what he seems, nor is Chase, the FBI hottie she meets and quickly begins to fall in love with. What will happen when Sammi learns the truth?
My thoughts:
This book makes for great light reading. I was unable to put it down until I finished. It was funny and engaging, and I highly recommend it. If you’re looking for a book to take to the beach, on a plane, or even to curl up on your couch with, this is a great pick!
Something I’m big on when reading a book is being able to relate to the characters, it’s hard to not sympathize with all of the characters in this book. Wells finds the perfect balance between plot and character development, so that even the “villians” come off as human without compromising the progress of the story.
Highlights: Life coaching sessons with Horace, the accordian playing rapper, are sure to bring out a chuckle.
